Te Arahou o Aotearoa Trust is proud to announce the appointment of Leanne Otene as our new Tumu Whakarae - National Director

With over 33 years of experience in principalship and three years serving as National President of the New Zealand Principals’ Federation, Leanne brings a depth of leadership, advocacy, and sector knowledge that will significantly strengthen our kaupapa.

Leanne’s lifelong commitment to educational excellence, cultural integrity, and strong leadership aligns deeply with the values of Te Arahou o Aotearoa. Her work has consistently focused on ensuring every kura is a place where rangatahi thrive, feel confident in who they are, and are supported by culturally responsive, sustainable leadership.

We are honoured to welcome Leanne into this role and look forward to the impact of her leadership as we continue to support and uplift educational leaders across Aotearoa.
